About Magyar Investigations
My name is Marton. I am a Budapest-based analyst, consultant, journalist and university lecturer. I am also the founder of Magyar Investigations. My practice sits at the intersection of high-stakes investigative reporting and private-sector risk consultancy.
By trade, I am an investigative reporter. I spent over a decade uncovering systemic corruption and cross-border financial crime writing for Hungarian investigative outlets like Atlatszo and international consortia like Vsquare and OCCRP. I later transitioned this skillset to London’s corporate intelligence sector, helping to deliver high-level research and analysis to corporate boardrooms on the CEE region and beyond.
While my current primary focus is specialized media finance analysis for a Budapest-headquartered think tank, I continue to lead public-interest investigations and provide due diligence and risk intelligence services to a select portfolio of consultancy clients.
Whether I am uncovering a public interest story or advising a firm on regional risk, my approach is the same: rigorous adherence to facts, a sharp ear for voices on the ground, and a refusal to settle for the surface-level narrative.
I maintain a limited capacity for private mandates. For a discreet consultation on your specific requirements, reach out via the contact page.
