Profile
Hi! My name is Marton Sarkadi Nagy (a compound surname like Du Pont or Lloyd Webber).
I am a Budapest-based, award-winning journalist, consultant, university lecturer, analyst – and the founder of Magyar Investigations. My practice bridges the gap between high-level journalism and strategic risk assessment.
Background
With a decade of experience writing for outlets like Hungarian muckrakers Atlatszo and international outfits OCCRP and VSquare, I specialize in deconstructing systemic corruption and cross-border financial structures.
The same investigative rigor informed my work in London’s corporate intelligence sector, where I produced regional risk intelligence for global firms.
Consulting services
Currently, I lead media finance research for a specialized think tank, while maintaining a limited freelance capacity for consultancy clients requiring on-the-ground intelligence and investigative depth.
The consultancy practice provides a select portfolio of private-sector clients in Hungary and worldwide with groundbreaking insight and actionable intelligence in areas including reputational due diligence and KYP/KYC, dispute resolution and asset tracing, political and other non-financial risk.
Furthermore, Magyar Investigations offers bespoke, complex investigations tailored to provide revelative answers to unique research questions (bring your own!).
Magyar Investigation maintains a limited capacity for private mandates. For a discreet consultation on availability, reach out to Marton via t0ff4huj6@mozmail.com.
Journalistic activities
Additionally, I research and produce public-interest investigative reporting, which I consider a form of public service.Pairing consultancy with journalism allows for a public showcase of my talent, expertise and integrity – as well as some of my personality and interests.
Otherwise I reckon my consulting activities and journalistic work to be strictly separate and compartmentalized from each other. I always choose my own reporting topics, and produce stories adhering to the highest professional and ethical considerations.
